Gifty is a wishlist management app that helps you track gift ideas and share wishlists with friends and family. We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal data. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding that data.

Information We Collect

When you use Gifty, we collect the following information:

• Account information: Your email address and display name, provided during registration or via Google sign-in.
• Wishlist and gift list data: The lists you create, items you add (including titles, descriptions, prices, URLs, and images), and how you organize them.
• Social data: Your friends list and sharing preferences for lists you choose to share.
• Activity data: Actions such as creating lists, adding items, and connecting with friends, used to power your activity feed.

Chrome Extension

The Gifty Chrome extension allows you to add products from Amazon directly to your Gifty lists. When you use the extension:

• The extension reads product information (title, price, image, and URL) from Amazon product pages you are actively viewing.
• The extension only activates on Amazon product pages — it does not track your browsing history, monitor other websites, or collect data in the background.
• Product data is sent directly to your Gifty account and is not shared with any third parties.

How We Store Your Data

All data is stored securely using Google Firebase and Cloud Firestore. Authentication is handled by Firebase Authentication, which supports email/password and Google OAuth sign-in. Your password is never stored by Gifty — it is managed entirely by Firebase Authentication.

How We Use Your Data

We use your data solely to provide and improve the Gifty service. Specifically:

• To display and manage your wishlists and gift lists.
• To enable sharing lists with friends you have connected with.
• To show your activity feed and friend activity.
• To authenticate you and keep your account secure.

Data Sharing with Third Parties

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties. Your data is only used to operate the Gifty service. The only third-party services involved are Google Firebase (for data storage and authentication), which is governed by Google's Privacy Policy.

Your Rights

You can delete your wishlists, gift lists, and items at any time from within the app. If you would like to delete your account and all associated data entirely, please contact us using the information below.

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated "Last updated" date.
